First match of the tournament, very hard-fought and very nice.
The match began with dominance of our JC11 academy, which soon took the lead on the scoreboard, through a set piece, with a great header of his captain “Nacho”, beat the opponent’s goal. The minutes were passing and more chances came for the JC11 academy, without materializing and with ball control, but without clarity in the game, given the high pressure and good positioning of a very hard-working team like CDEB Ontinyent. The team from the capital of the region of Valle de Albaida had a lot of danger from set pieces and crashed into the “wood” of the goal defended by Erik, up to two times in the first half. That’s how we reached halftime, with 1-0 on the scoreboard. The tone of the match remained the same as in the first half, until the Valencian capital team lost a ball and the score was leveled. The home team continued in the same way, with their intention to play the ball from the back, and as a result, Alvaro Granell’s free kick was the result of this, which, in the end, would be the 2-1, with Rubén, who was very committed to set pieces, coming straight from the bench, did not feel the responsibility and put the ball in the goal.
The 3-1 came after a penalty, with tireless pressure from Martin up top, who found the spot-kick on a steal of the ball and converted it into a goal.
The mentality of the JC11 Academy team was ideal for the start of a tournament, following their line of organized play, channeled with the ball and without the pressure of a big tournament like the Cotif. After the hard blow of the tie, they kept calm and knew how to continue with their game and come out with the victory. It is worth mentioning the great mentality of overcoming the tie and going out to the field to have fun and do what they like the most, without being weighed down by the tournament or the result, with their hallmark identity and enjoying what they like the most, the ball ⚽️.
